Mount Chirripó is the highest point in Costa Rica at 3820 meters above sea level. Small valleys of glacial origin can be seen, these were created by the effects of ice more than 25,000 years ago.

The volcanoes Irazu and Turrialba can be seen in the distance along with Volcan Baru to the south in Panama.
